No one outside of my family knows that I have a Truth Social account-really my only involvement on social media. Most mornings, I write a message to President Trump (and any who may see that particular post). For a man who has over 40 million followers on X (what used to be called Twitter) as well as his own platform (this Truth Social), I know there is only a decimal percentage chance that he would actually see my particular post, but I continue doing it each day as if he did. This morning, this was what I posted: “Good morning President Trump and all who see this post. I am praying fervently for you and your family and campaign this weekend. May God bless you and keep you safe.”
This afternoon, God answered that prayer.
This afternoon President Trump had a rally at Butler Pennsylvania. The city has only a population of about 13,000. As in most Trump Rallies, people from surrounding counties and states will come for the event and in this case, the number of people in the town would double. President Trump was dressed in his customary blue suit, without the red tie, and sporting a red MAGA hat. Like most of his speeches in his rallies, he talks about the economy and the conditions at the southern border. He was looking to his right and talking about statistics on illegal immigration at the southern border when all of a sudden gun shots began to ring out. President Trump winced and his hand went to the side of his head before he hit the ground.
It was like the world stopped.
I was not watching the rally but rather drinking a cup of tea and getting ready to go to the Saturday evening prayer service at church when on my phone an email from syndicated conservative talk show host Todd Starnes showed up on my phone saying that shots had rang out in the rally. I immediately went on Truth Social and the very first image that I saw was the now immortal footage of President Trump with blood trickling down from his ear and splatter on his face, covered by Secret Service agents, pumping his fists and mouthing to the crowd, “FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT”, before he was carried off by them to the limo to the hospital.
The crowd was on their feet cheering him on like never before. My wife and kids were around me looking at the same footage on my phone. A moment later we saw just how horrible that attempt was in a longer video footage of the incident. It is a miracle that former President Donald J. Trump is alive. Had his head been turned just an inch or two the other way, the bullet would not have just grazed his ear, but almost certainly entered right through the skull.
I was thanking God that his life was spared.
Throughout this day, I was in my house studying and preparing for the ministry in the weekend. Often times, I follow certain commentators or stories on YouTube. Today, I happened to see shorts of a movie about President Teddy Roosevelt. The footage was based on Roosevelt’s run for the Presidency, after he finished his terms in the White House. On the campaign trail, at one particular spot, a person shot the 26th President in the side of the chest. Roosevelt assessed himself, and though bleeding, continued his stumping and gave an 83-minute speech before going for medical help. His response at the moment: “It will take more than that to bring down a bull-moose!”
I did not know why, but the whole day revolved around thinking about that assassination and Roosevelt’s response in the aftermath. When I saw the footage of the assassination attempt, the gross reality of that situation hit me like a ton of bricks. A person who I personally admire was only a millimeter from losing his life in front of the whole world.
I wept.
I like President Trump. God-willing, I will vote for him a third time. In my opinion, in this presidential election cycle, he is the only candidate not replaceable in either party. I thought about these past three years since he ignominiously left Washington D.C. in the aftermath of the January 6 charade. I never lost faith in the idea that President Trump would make a political comeback, but having faith in an idea and seeing it become a reality are two different things. As the months and days began to pass, I observed miracle after miracle take place which brought the 45th President closer to becoming the Republican nominee. I also saw the Biden regime become like an open pit from hell, unleashing (by Joe Biden’s order) every dirty trick that can be devised by the Justice Department and through liberal area district courts and judges (i.e. New York City, Washington D.C., Fulton Country (Georgia)). It was all, in a word, insane.
The FBI and CIA, and possibly a host of other intel and security agencies were involved in persecuting President Trump and his family. An FBI raid was ordered (by Biden) on President Trump’s residence in Florida, the Mar-al-Lago resort under the pretext of having secret documents (nuclear codes it was said in the press) which were not declassified. The charge was a falsehood but nonetheless the propaganda ministry of the democrat left, which used to be knowns as the ‘national press’ ran with every ridiculous story released from the Biden regime. A minor detail was found out later about the Mar-al-Lago raid, the FBI agents were given permission to use “deadly force”. Against whom…?
As new details of the assassination are coming out, a couple of conclusions are coming out which are incontestable.
First, it is a miracle of God that President Trump is alive. President Trump said it later, “God alone saved me”. Had his head been turned slightly a few degrees to the left, that bullet would have pierced his head the way President Kennedy was in 1963. Instead, just a fraction of a second before that bullet came out of the barrel, President Trump turned his head just a few millimeters enough for that bullet shredded the top side of his ear. God saved him, without a shadow of a doubt.
Secondly, the more information that comes out, one comes to understand that the Secret Service, by God’s grace, did not have a bloodier tragedy on their hands. Meaning, as conservative broadcaster Dan Bongino and others have been saying, this was an enormous security failure. Footage has come out that shows the killer climbing to and crawling on that roof with his rifle, and people pointing him out to the local police-a footage totaling almost 10 minutes. One eyewitness was asking, “why is Trump still speaking?!” Which leads to point three.
Thirdly, as much as this looks like the operation of a “lone wolf” shooter (like how Lee Harvey Oswald was/is officially purported to be), we are at the point of concluding the Secret Service was negligent, but the proverbial needle is moving toward something more sinister.
Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr, at the beginning of his campaign came out and said that both his uncle (President John F. Kennedy) and his father were both assassinated by government agents/agencies involvement. He believed that idea so strongly that he spoke on behalf of Sirhan Sirhan-the man who was convicted for shooting RFK Sr and spent almost 30 years in prison for the crime-to be released on parole. (In 2021 a two person parole panel agreed to release the convicted assassin, but California governor Gavin Newsom blocked the decision, twice.) At this point, there is not enough evidence to make a definitive conclusion, but things are moving in that direction. And there are lot of people investigating this who will not be bullied to turn and look the other way from the facts. And whether the media wants to acknowledge that fact or not, the American people have been thoroughly shaken by what they saw on that platform today inspite how individuals such as former president Barak Obama and others like to play it down.
A 20-year old scoped and shot bullets at the President Donald Trump. And there are casualties. Do not look away and do not belittle it.
If you have read my previous articles, you know that I believe that the media bears a heavy responsibility for what happened this afternoon. For the last eight years (since the 2016 election), the press (which was nothing more than a propaganda ministry) was nothing more than vitriol and bitter anger at Donald Trump. At the same time, no President has had to face the internal animosity of government players, agents, and agencies, both in the Federal bureaucracy as well as in Congress.
Hollywood elites constantly subjected him and his family to the vilest insults, innuendoes, and even death wishes. Even after the assassination attempt. But I believe that a vast number of people have had their eyes opened by what happened today.
May God bring them all to their senses.
May God protect President Trump and his family. May he return to the White House as the 47th President of the United States in 2025.
POSTCRIPT: A volunteer firefighter, and chief of the Butler Township Fire Department, named Corey Comperatore was killed by one of the assasin’s bullets as he shielded his wife and daughter. Two other men were critically wounded David Dutch and James Copenhaver. May God comfort the Comperatore family who had their husband and father viciously stripped from them. He leaves behind his wife and two daughters. And we pray for the speedy recovery of Mister Dutch and Mister Copenhaver.
